Biography

ADEWUNMI OBAFEMI OGUNBASE, NCE & BEd (Ibadan), MSc (Netherlands), MSoc.Sci (Leicester), PhD (Finland), Fellow of ICM, (UK) born in Lagos, Nigeria. As a child
growing up in Lagos, I had a difficult life living in many homes of non-legal/self-appointed guardians and foster parents. And almost like a Lagos-street boy
until the end of my Elementary school education at Yaba Model School, Yaba, Lagos moving between Lagos Island and Lagos Mainland.
In 1975, I attended my secondary school education at Remo Secondary School (‘75/’80), Sagamu, Ogun State, Nigeria.
From December, 1980 to August, 1983, I worked with Ogun State Ministry of Finance, Internal Revenue Division as Clerical Officer.
From September, 1983 to June 1986, I attended Ogun State College of Education (affiliated with the University of Ibadan, Nigeria) where I obtained National
Certificate in Education (NCE) in Education, Economics and Political Science.
I proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Nigeria (‘88/’94) as external student where I obtained Bachelor of Education in Adult Education and Political Science
(Second Class Honours).
In Nigeria, between 1985 and June 1991, I worked as a secondary school practice teacher and class teacher at Isara Secondary School; Ipara Community
High School; Ogere Community High School; and Simawa Community High School, all in Remoland of Ogun State, Nigeria.
From July 1991 to Sept, 1996, I worked with Gateway Transit, Ogun State as a Personnel Officer.
In 1994, I obtained Civil Service Professional Diploma in Personnel Administration & Personnel Psychology from the Administrative Staff College Of Nigeria,
Badagry, Nigeria.
January, 1998 to July 2000 in Liberia, I joined the International Rescue Committee (IRC) where I worked as a volunteer (Policy Officer/Education Instructor)
duty post at Ganta City, Nimba County, Liberia (during the Liberian Civil war).
In September, 2000, I moved to The Gambia, where I worked as Instructor/Principal of a post-secondary educational institute in Serrekunda, The Gambia.
August, 2002 to August 2003, I moved to The Netherlands for my Master study programme where I obtained Master of Behavioural Sciences in Telematics
Applications in Education & Training with Distinction (7 points out of 10 points).
In 2003 to 2009, I moved to London, England where I lived and worked in different positions at University College London, Royal Veterinary College, Queen
Mary University of London, and at St Guys & Thomas’ Hospitals.
In England, I obtained Master of Social Sciences degree in Social Science (Social Science Research) from the University of Leicester, Leicester, England in
2008. I also obtained other British National Vocational Qualifications and Diplomas, e.g. Diploma in Legal Studies, NVQ in CCTV Operations & Security, etc.
In October, 2009, I moved to Tampere, Finland for my doctoral study programme at the University of Tampere, Finland where I obtained Doctor of
Philosophy degree in Interactive Technology.
In 2019, I worked at Vidzemes University of Applied Sciences, Valmiera, Latvia as Guest Professor and University Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering,
Department of Information Technologies Studies.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Commercial Management, United Kingdom.
I am a member of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (https://remogdf.org.ng/), and Head of the Directorate for ICT & Technology
(https://remogdf.org.ng/ict-technology/) of this Foundation in Remo Land, Ogun State, Nigeria.
I am an Expert and independent Researcher in the fields of Educational Technology (Information Technologies studies), IT/ICTs Use for Education and Etechnologies in general with EU PIC number 893932019
