ESEF’s social and economic programmes, such as, Hand-Crafts, Sewing, hairdressing, leather and metal work, brewing, etc, will contributes to the achievement of a number of the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs), including:

  • Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere. ESEF will support micro enterprises by focusing on the most vulnerable groups among youth, especially female through the provision of vocational education and training, and by facilitating employment opportunities and bridging the gap between the academic and the work life through several programmes aligned with the needs of all youth.
  • Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. ESEFs main programmes on socio-economic development target male and female youth without discrimination, in addition to tailoring some projects to empower women in particular.
  • Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. ESEF will consistently implements local and modern innovative equipment tools and programmes to empower all youth through their career guidance and vocational training for direct employment. It will also work to support the enterprise development programme that includes the provision of loan  guarantees, as well as practically training entrepreneurs and building their  capabilities through initiatives developed in collaboration with national and international partners.
  • Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development ESEF will work with and through international, regional and local partners, ranging from the private sector, donor organisations, governments, civil society and most academia to develop comprehensive programmes aimed at the social & economic empowerment of youth. These programmes are implemented at the local level to sustain performance, transfer expertise and develop competencies. ESEF will also adopt some of the priorities  of Youth2030: The United Nations Strategy on Youth, namely:
  • FIRST PRIORITY: Engagement, Participation and Advocacy—Amplify youth voices for the promotion of a peaceful, just and sustainable world.
  • THIRD PRIORITY: Economic Empowerment through Decent Work—Support young people’s greater access to decent work and productive employment.
  • FIFTH PRIORITY: Peace and Resilience Building—Support young people
    as catalysts for Peace and Security and Humanitarian Action.
